Eric W. Leathers Joins Pine Brook as Managing Director

NEW YORK—September 10, 2009  

Pine Brook Road Partners, LLC, a New York-based private equity firm that makes business-building and growth -equity investments in the energy and financial services industries, today announced that Eric W. Leathers has joined the firm as a Managing Director. Together with William Spiegel and Robert Glanville, Mr. Leathers will be responsible for Pine Brook’s financial services investing activities.

Mr. Leathers comes to Pine Brook from Capital Z Partners, a leading private equity investor in financial services with over $2 billion under management, where he was a Partner responsible for sourcing and structuring transactions across multiple sectors of the financial services industry. He has previously served as a director of Universal American Corp., Permanent General Corp., SBJ Group, Ltd, USI Holdings and several smaller companies.

Prior to joining Capital Z, Mr. Leathers was an investment banker with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions in the financial services sector.
