Mr. Leathers is a Managing Director of Pine Brook and together with Mr. Spiegel and Mr. Glanville is responsible for Pine Brook’s financial services investing activities.  Mr. Leathers has over 14 years of financial services experience, including 11 years focusing exclusively on making private equity investments in the sector.  Prior to joining Pine Brook, he was a Partner with Capital Z Partners (“Capital Z”), a leading private equity investor in the financial services industry with over $2.1 billion under management.  During his time with Capital Z, Mr. Leathers was responsible for sourcing and structuring transactions across multiple sectors of the financial services industry and served as a director of Universal American Corp., Permanent General Corp., USI Holdings and several smaller companies.  Prior to joining Capital Z, Mr. Leathers was an investment banker with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and private equity transactions in the financial services sector.  Mr. Leathers holds a B.S. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and a B.A. in History from the University of Pennsylvania’s College of Arts and Sciences.
