Mr. Glanville is a founder of Pine Brook and together with Mr. Spiegel is responsible for Pine Brook’s financial services investing activities. Mr. Glanville currently serves on the board of directors of Pine Brook’s three financial services portfolio companies, Aurigen Re Capital Limited, Narragansett Bay Insurance Company and Syndicate Holding Corp.  Mr. Glanville has a combination of in-depth investing and operating experience.  From September 2003 until he joined Pine Brook, Mr. Glanville was Senior Vice President – Financial and Treasury Services for Arch Capital Group, Ltd. (“Arch Capital”). At Arch Capital, he was involved in capital raising, capital allocation, business development, investment management/treasury and internal audit.  Mr. Glanville was the principal architect and lead negotiator for Arch Capital’s $1 billion Flatiron Re sidecar, one of the largest reinsurance structures established following Hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma. In 2006, he also served as advisor to the founder and Chairman of Aeolus Ltd. with regard to its formation and capitalization. Previously, he spent over four years at Warburg Pincus (1999 to 2003) where he reported to Mr. Newman and focused on financial services investing, particularly in the commercial finance and insurance areas. He played a significant role in executing Warburg Pincus’ 2001 investment in Arch Capital and served on Arch Capital’s board of directors. In 1993, Mr. Glanville founded a successful emerging markets financial services and investment boutique based in Moscow, where he was the lead partner and served as the CFO of several Eastern European firms, including (from 1997 to early 1999) APP, a Warburg Pincus portfolio company. He also spent four years with Morgan Stanley in corporate finance and M&A based in New York and Tokyo (1988 to 1992).  Mr. Glanville holds an A.B. summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, in American History from Princeton University.
